At the Existentialist Café

Before reading this book, I would have said I was a sucker for existentialism—I'd still say so now, but with a new understanding of what that means. I found it really refreshing, interesting, and fun to read about the lives of the existentialists entwined with their philosophy and to learn about how they tried to live and embody their ideas. What compelling characters! I'm certainly going to be reading some Beauvoir, Sartre, and Kierkegaard (though I may skip the Heidegger) in the coming weeks and months.
