Review

I thought this was a fine science fiction book—a little bit young adult-y, which isn't entirely a criticism. It definitely held my attention, and I thought the premise was awesome. The memory loss and flashbacks added a little variety to that formula, but I didn't find that quite enough not to get a little bored with the constant here's an obstacle, now let's solve it with science! Maybe I'm a little too cynical, but that became a bit boring over time. I did love a lot of the details about alien creatures and civilizations—great world-building! All in all, I had fun with this one but I doubt it's a book I'll come back to or think much about in the future.
